About Us

The Bereans’ Commentary for Bible Teachers is the home of bible study for the love of God first, and then the desire for growth in grace, wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. My name is Dr. Shaunta Scroggins, and I am the lead facilitator-guide on our journey through the Word for its most relevant application in our lives. Please subscribe to our YouTube page, The Bereans’ Commentary.

For eight years, this site was named The Queen Life, as an inreach to women who were born again Christians and an outreach to women who were seeking deeper relationship with Jesus. The Queen Life was a metaphor for the gifted Christian woman’s spiritual growth. It was the description for her ascension: promotion and providence, providence and promotion through each set of processes.

At the leading of the Holy Ghost, I dissolved The Queen Life and spent time listening for instructions on how to transition the content. As it turned out, I simply needed reflection time as He reminded me of His original desire for the site: to create an online repository of bible commentary through written and spoken word. My prayer is that in the years to come, people will find The Bereans’ Commentary a valuable resource for studying the Bible for the love of the Lord, and find another honest approach to His Word.

So, I needed a name for the “new” site. After many searches and much wordsmithing, I was satisfied with The Bereans’ Commentary. After all, the nature of healthy bible study and pursuit of Jesus is the desire to see/experience the Lord in His truth. Further thought inspired me to add my name since a commentary on the scripture is basically an informed and studied op-ed. The Bereans were real people and the description of the Bereans in the bible (Acts 17:10-11) is the mission of this online community we call The Bereans’ Commentary for Bible Teachers. The saints at Berea 1) eagerly received bible teaching, and 2) studied the scriptures daily to confirm the teachings from Paul and Silas.

The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived they went into the Jewish synagogue. Now these Jews were more noble than those in Thessalonica; they received the word with all eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see if these things were so. (ESV)

It is in the spirit of the noble Bereans that I invite you to journey with me through the bible, to search for context and determine relevance for this present age. Make comments and share posts, teach me and I will teach you. Together, we will grow in discipleship.
