Day 24 of 40: Mrs. KiYada Upshaw, Featured Contributor
When I think of a guiding light — like the star in the east that led the wise men to the Christ child — I think of the idea of a north star. Coaches use the concept to help us set our goals. What is the end game that will guide all effort to attain it? In Christ we have a guiding light; He lives in us. He is the Holy Spirit. But also, in our daily lives, God gets in the details. He orders our steps in alignment with His will. Sometimes, we understand the value of the moment, Other times, we learn the lessons later. But we are not alone. We are guided in this walk of faith.

These 40 days are about having and holding on to hope. As you read, watch, and ponder on these hope reminders, share them with others. Let’s hold fast to hope (Heb. 10:23), for it does not disappoint or cause us to be ashamed (Rom. 5:5). As we fulfill God’s calling on our lives, let’s receive Holy Spirit’s revelations of hope (Eph. 1:18). Hope is part of the armor for the believers in and disciples of Jesus Christ. Our God is the God of hope (Rom. 15:13). Christ in us is the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). Salvation creates in us a hope for the future (1 Pet. 3:15). The Scriptures encourage us to endure so that we will have hope (Rom. 15:4). Most of all, remember that when we need to refresh our hope, these meditations will be here waiting for us.
