Return to Advent

Are we still looking for God to show up in our lives? (where did He go?) This is your invitation to return to advent. I mean, by faith and in life. Look for the Lord’s presence everywhere and in all things. This is the beginning of the Gospel, that God reduced himself and took our human journey. He became a baby birthed from a natural womb. He was raised with parents and taught about life. To me, that’s mind boggling! To offer us the Kingdom, he walked in our shoes and understood our need for him, for community, and for service.

The time is upon us again where countdowns are happening for the holiday.

I want us to make sure we are returning to advent. That is, a return to the hope and wonder of God getting involved in earthly matters because he loves us. Whether God cares for the matter is irrelevant. He cares for us, and that care and love inspires him to do things that may make no sense to us.

The beauty of advent is that it belongs to us all, saved or not. It is a wonderful way to witness during this time of the year. Jesus is here and he is coming! This is the spirit of advent. Let’s make sure we navigate through the movies, food, and traditions back to Jesus. Let’s preach the gospel of the Kingdom and encourage weary eyes to look up and believe in the advent.
