Steadfastness

I know you felt like this turtle before.

Today, I want to ask you how often you felt like this turtle.

  • How many times did you feel like a late bloomer?
  • Like others around you made more progress than you?
  • Or, with more sensational things to say, others possess greater platforms while you remain unknown?

Do you ever wonder if “it” — all the effort, patience, plugging away (perseverance, for my friends outside the southern United Stated) — is worth it?

Do you ever feel discontented with having to take cover in your own shell, instead of receiving the comfort of those who truly have your best interests at heart?

I do. Yet faithfulness to our Father requires we stick and stay… and see what His great end will be for us! This is the resilience of discipleship.

Today, let’s take courage together from the Scriptures.

Psalm 57:7 NASB – My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises!

Psalm 108:1 NASB – A Song, a Psalm of David.
My heart is steadfast, O God;
I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul.

Isaiah 26:3 NASB – “The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace,
Because he trusts in You.

1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV – Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

2 Corinthians 1:7 KJV – And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so also of the consolation.

Hebrews 3:14 KJV – For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Hebrews 6:19 NASB – This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,

1 Peter 5:8,9 KJV – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Beloved, we know as we follow on to know (see Hebrews 6). Let’s move forward with our Lord. Selah, and love to all.
