Blessings, Royal Ones.
Not long ago I told you about a young man at BJ’s restaurant take-out desk who was in school and had a health condition. Every couple of months or so I order to-go and hope I see him for an update. Good news!
He is now under regular monitoring for his kidneys, but all is well! He was excited to tell me about his journey through mortuary school and his plans, along with his best friends also studying there, to start their own funeral home in several years.
The reason I got to sit and have an enthusiastic conversation about faith, healing, and goals was because my online order did not go through. I had to wait for my order to be made, and had a great time. This young man appreciated a stranger looking after him.
But one who prophesies strengthens others, encourages them, and comforts them.
1 Corinthians 14:3 NLT
The prophetic is more than “telling the future.” If the target hearer is not built up in some way, encouraged in some way, or comforted in some way — IN THE HOLY GHOST — to go on with the Lord Jesus, then we missed the prophetic.
Our issue is that we can mistake strength, encouragement and comfort for only positive speech. Sometimes, challenge gives strength, pushes us to do/be great, and comforts us in the press. Prophecy is a SPIRITUAL GIFT. Let’s quit using it to pet and pacify souls. Instead, let’s contribute to the sanctification process of the soul through the strengthening of the spirits of men…that after all, should be in headship.
Be encouraged and truly prophesy to someone by the Holy Ghost. Selah, and love to all.
