Arrested by a Sunset

Royal Ones,

A few days ago I left work to go to campus and study. Afterwards, I loaded my car to go and as I turned around this was my view.

Wow, right?! I could not move. I leaned against my car and slowly, two songs came to mind and heart, and it was offering time at the evening sacrifice.

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art

As I watched I saw a few planes fly through the center of this frame, as if the opening was an entrance into something greater. It was breathtaking. It was a moment made to stop me…for a bigger moment with God. I could not move. Then with tears flowing, I sang the chorus of a song from the movie Prince of Egypt that still comes from my heart on occasion.

You know better than I
You know the way
I’ve let go the need to know why
For You know better than I

I pray in the press God grants you moments of relief and release like these. I pray He arrests you by His glory in a sunset, or some other glory of His creation that forces you to pay attention. And then when you do, I pray He has your attention and you give Him clearance to speak to you heart. And when He speaks peace, I pray you receive it. Honor it. Remember it…and brand the moment on heart, mind, and speech. I pray you allow Him to move you from trying to fight your battle in a weary faith, and transfer all your energy to love Him. I pray you let Him renew you and cover you and strengthen and instruct you.

Don’t give up or burn out because you don’t pay attention when He tries to stop you. Let the glory enchant you, draw you in to Him. So you can continue in earnest obedience toward His promise.

Be well, Royal Ones. He is doing the necessary work in us and despite the gross misquoting of the scripture….He meant a good outcome all along. Selah, and love to all.
