The Preexisting Prophetic
Prophets need to know where “home” is… it is in God.
All prophets have a “power combination” or a set of disciplines that works for them in a crunch, under pressure or when their backs are up against walls.
- prayer
- praise
- worship
- fasting
- writing
- painting, dancing, or other arts
Every prophet knows how to get there, and not for holiday visits, but each day.
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. ~ Jeremiah 1:5
This is just a reminder that we came out of God, from experience with God, and relationship with Him. We were with God first. Before birthing was necessary, He marked us to distinguish us in the earth.
Before I formed you in the belly I knew you;
When you were not yet formed in the womb, I knew you by experience
and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you,
and before you exited the womb I prepared, separated & consecrated you
and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.
and I gave permission for you to be my spokesman to the people
Our human journey allows us to discover who God designed us to be in the earth for Him. What we can forget, I think, is that while we remain incomplete and imperfect in flesh, our God and His gift in us is complete. It existed before we did…because we existed before we did.
I pray this encourages you like it does me. It takes the pressure off a bit…and we should meditate and let it sink in… He really chose us — the right person — for the task in our hands. Why?
He doesn’t just know us.
HE. KNEW. US. And this is why, for prophetic people, THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME.
