Drawn, Until It’s Finished (devotional)

What God puts in us has strength. It has drawing strength, and it never lets us go until we accomplish it. It does not matter how we whine, analyze or try to ignore it. When it’s His burden, it will not release us… except for some, when we flat refuse to submit, obey and DO what we heard Him tell us.

In Luke 12:50, Jesus says,

But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished! (NASB)

Where did we get the idea that everything attached to God feels good because He is good?

When did we decide that His non-negotiable on our lives should make us “excited” and “happy”…while we bear His burden?

have toBe encouraged today, and find yourself in Christ’s company, if His burden in your life creates some… distress, heaviness. We are under it until we complete it.

Be reminded today that excuses are useless. Our energy is best spent leaning into the distress and heaviness to see fully our portion and understand that we cannot think ourselves into avoidance. We have to do it. We must get done what He put in us.

Be released from emphasized focus on self. We must needs go through… a real battle… with a GOD burden… and keep a mind to finish.

Royal Ones, Finish Well. Selah.
