Keep Your Grip on Truth (prayer call w/recording)
My gracious, thank you Lord for TRUTH. We looked at Proverbs 8:33 and Luke 8:16-18 in the New American Standard Bible (NASB) and the Amplified Bible. Our prayer focus was that the Father help us stay committed to TRUTH.
Heed [hear with attention or interest, “ear perception”] instruction [discipline, chastening] and be wise [show or demonstrate wisdom], and do not neglect [refuse, avoid, loosen grip] it.
16 “Now no one after lighting a lamp covers it over with a container, or puts it under a bed; but he puts it on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light. 17 For nothing is hidden that will not become evident, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light. 18 So take care how you listen; for whoever has, to him more shall be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has shall be taken away from him.”
We are on the cusp of making MAJOR decisions — who, where, when, how… and it’s crucial that we allow the Word to get in us to the point of understanding and application. We must know what He says, and we CAN KNOW what He says.
There is a real war against TRUTH, and in some cases it is subtle and tears at our confidence and faith.
My prayer is that this recording encourages us all to keep standing in faith and with truth. No other voice can supersede God’s word. No other voice can outrank it. And we can choose where we lend our ear.
