Watch Out for Well Meaning Witchcraft

Good day, Royal Ones.

This is an interesting thought…as both grace extremists and demon chasers have their views of witchcraft. I offer this thought in terms of prayer, and the people in our circles with good intentions who pray witchcraft prayers. According to my training in prayer, witchcraft prayer happens when one prays his/her will upon another. Because life and death is in the power of the tongue, the target of the prayer (the person, and not the issue) can experience “interference” via confusion, scattered thoughts, trouble with articulation and more when this kind of activity enters their atmosphere. Imagine your prayer for one thing and another person’s prayer for something else meeting in the spirit realm and they do not agree but they conflict (are opposites). It creates a collision and we have something like this: (see below, “Collision by Chaos“)

It is a blessing to have different personalities and opinions present in our lives because for the most part, they give an alternate view that challenges us to check our convictions. The potential problem is when they are wrong… when they do not walk in our shoes… when they become dogmatic and insist that their view is absolutely correct, with or without Scriptural backing (and with it, their assistance is partial).

I offer this thought because of the manifestation season that meets us now. God is performing for His people and remembering us according to personal promises made in times past. Many, if not all, of those in our present circles were absent when the word was given and do not have all the information about this season of possession. We must stay steadfast in our loyalty to God first before yielding to human spirits and opinions.

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions… (Galatians 5:19-20 NASB)

WHEN WE ARE THE DISSENTERS / CHALLENGERS: It is possible that we are right and our love compels us to attempt to persuade our loved ones to our (God’s) way of thinking. But, if we filter through the list in Galatians 5:19-21 (read the entire list, please) then our motive is wrong, and according to the Word, we disqualify ourselves from Kingdom inheritance. So let’s not let passion overtake us through jealousy of their confidence, outbursts of anger at not getting our way because they are not persuaded by our arguments, or even causing others to separate from them (i.e., factions, dissensions). We set ourselves up for penalty trying to move them away from disobedience. Now what sense does that make! “If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit” (v. 25).

WHEN WE ARE THE CHALLENGED: We fight a good warfare with the prophecies, yes, but other things happen that affect our faith. Others involved make choices against the Word. We miss windows of  opportunity. It is one-sided to consider only the filter of those who challenge us, even if discovery reveals that their fleshly motives or filters. I offer these not to discourage our faith stand, but to encourage us to keep our focus on God and not the prophecy. He is our goal and His glory is our aim. There is a principle introduced in 1 Samuel 15:23 that stubbornness is just like idolatry. Let’s not make our faith stand an idol to the point that our hearts callous up to Godly counsel or warning.

And He began to teach that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. And He was stating the matter plainly. And Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said, “Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.” (Mark 8:31-33 NASB)

Consider Jesus. Peter, the one who received the “rock of revelation” that is our foundation of faith, walked with Jesus. Yet he had another idea when Jesus plainly (don’t miss that!) explained His future. Peter likely meant well, and thought his motive was love for rebuking Jesus. Yet Jesus exposed the spirit influencing him as demonic. The proof was in Peter’s focus — it was on man’s interests, not God’s interests.

Not long ago I offered a thought about avoiding subtle evils. This kind of ties in…instead of operating in suspicion and trying to figure out who merits relationship with us, how about we stay in our lane and move at Holy Ghost’s leading?

Let’s not be guilty of witchcraft prayer or idolatry in stubbornness. Let’s just seek God in love, and when we challenge, let’s challenge with clean hands and pure hearts and the other person’s obedience to God in mind. In context, our opinions lead us to the works of the flesh and mean very little. God’s word brings light to sin and mismanagement of prophecy. In every case there are three sides to consider: ours, theirs and God’s. The hope is that when any side does not agree with God, then alignment becomes the new focus.

Please, read this and share with others so that we are sober together. If you wish to expand our understanding, then by all means, comment to this post and we can share.

Selah, and love to all.

  1. I love this! My petition to God recently has been I don’t want my opinion in prayer or in counseling others but I only want the will of God! It causes peace, joy, & a relationship with our sisters that is Gods truth that leads to real freedom

  2. So true Prophet!! I was just having this conversation with someone. It is so easy to cross over into witchcraft praying if we are not careful.
