Beware: Instability is Dangerous

Across the Body of Christ there seems strong agreement about this year producing for the saints. Manifestation, seeing what we prayed for years ago, and more…all a part of this year. Recently during meditation time, I thought about this as well as the many things my faith is holding out to see and experience. Then I decided–

I will not be double minded

It’s one of those subtle evils, that disciples of Jesus cater to a double mind and halt the manifestation of God’s promises. James 1:5-8 explains this process.

First, ask God for wisdom. He liberally gives wisdom to any who ask.

Next, ask in faith without doubting because the doubter violently shifts mentally, driven by the winds. perspective 2

Finally, ask in faith because the doubter shouldn’t expect to receive from God because they are double-minded and unstable in all their ways.

Vacillation in one area affects all the other areas of our lives. Ask for wisdom in faith, and then let God help us with His wisdom. Believe and stand on conviction with God…that is, become stable in faith and stay positioned to receive from God.

The mental back-and-forth is a lack of faith. Note that this is different from a sober count of the costs. James says the person who entertains the back-and-forth mind shifts is like the surf of the sea (high tide, low tide, susceptible to the weather patterns) driven and tossed by the winds. Wow.

I implore us to decide today to not be double minded. Declare faith. Declare determination to believe. Purpose to receive from God. Decide for stability.

The subtle evil of double mindedness makes us a danger to ourselves because we can direct our mental activity. We can choose life…and stability, even if our lives present us with continual drama.

Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.

Whatsoever things are true…honorable…right…pure…lovely…of good repute…with excellence… praiseworthy…think on these things.

Love the Lord your God with all your mind…

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us….that includes making up our minds.

Selah and love to all.
