They nominated two men — Joseph called Barsabas, surnamed Justus, and Matthias. Then they prayed, “Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen to take over the work and the office of emissary that Judas abandoned to go where he belongs.” Then they drew lots to decide between the two, and the lot fell to Matthias. For our learning and perfecting our kind Father gave us gifts in the form of people. They are apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. And regardless of the style and demonstration of what these ascension gifts do, they all have the same main purpose.
Their task is to equip God’s people for the work of service that builds the body of the Messiah, until we all arrive at the unity implied by trusting and knowing the Son of God, at full manhood, at the standard of maturity set by the Messiah’s perfection. — Ephesians 4:12-13, CJB (emphasis added)Let’s honor God by following His order. Let’s get built up. Let’s grow up and unify in the faith. Let’s seek to accomplish God’s will and advance His agenda…His way. Let’s not self-destruct on a path that seems right to us as order. How about we simply obey God and do “it” — whatever it is — God’s way?
