Just be faithful…

Good day to all.

I want to offer a reminder and an encouragement to rest in the Lord, follow peace, and just be faithful. Ecclesiastes 9:11 says this:

I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time. (NLT)

Even in our giftedness, we can permit snares by well-meaning people who intend to give us “exposure.” Things can get skewed, and inspire us to believe that people alone create the opportunities for us. You and I are not puppets, and being beholden to people in this way is neither wise nor healthy.

Today, I want to encourage us to stay faithful in our lanes. Follow peace — not just with all men, but in all decisions. If the uncertainty is there, then please pay attention to it. It may not be bad; it just may not be for you or for you right now.

Above all, just be faithful. That is a requirement for stewards or managers of holy things (1 Corinthians 4:2). It’s also a cure when the temptation builds to cater to public opinion and its reduction of your “many-sided grace” to the gift or skill that is most useful to them.

Be wise, precious ones. Time and chance happens to us all. This opportunity is not the last one you’ll ever get. Just pay attention, follow peace, and keep your confidence placed in the Father (Psalm 118:8-9). And when the Lord promotes and opens doors, use this same wisdom to walk right in!

Selah, and love to all.

  1. Right on time. Well actually, I wish I had this sooner, but I don’t think I was ready to recieve it then. Now having the benefit of hindsight on some things I realize that this is true and sound advice.

    • Praise God. I don’t know that I’d considered Ecclesiastes 9:11 like that before. As I come to understand the value of my “treausre,” it’s as if certain things become clearer. Love you Sis!
