Cushions…Refuse Ungodly Comfort
Good day, Kingdom Queens.
Over the last couple days something from our last Queen Life Live came back to me. I’ve been mulling it over and want to offer it as a reminder…
Sometimes you can get support in the wrong place.
Let’s not let the desire for real support and stability seduce us from our seat. Let’s not allow loneliness or isolation overwhelm us to the point of resentment. Let’s not leave our seat to attempt “collections”…just so we can feel some comfort — any comfort in our process. Not all support is good support, and not all support is genuine.
We’re so close to achieving this next place on the Path. Let’s not get sidetracked by the cushions. What are the cushions?
- False fellowship (mockers and scorners dwell in community)
- The rise of a scornful heart (jealousy, envy, resentment)
- Bitter root judgment
- Emotional bondage (grudges, unforgiveness, passive aggression, victim mentality)
- Pity parties (depression at what looks like to you lack of progress)
Proverbs 9:12 adds some insight–
If you are wise, your wisdom helps you; but if you scoff, you bear the consequences alone. (CJB)
Wisdom is one of our crown jewels. Let’s use it. Let’s not unseat ourselves…we will be alone to reap those consequences. Instead, choose wisdom. Christ was made for us wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30). Remember dear ones, we are not without options. We can be and remain stable in Him. After all our position is IN Christ. Amen?
Truth: We may need to go and thank the people whose support sounded like rebuke or correction and not comfort. These are far from the seat of the scornful, and can help us, if we let them, remain seated.
