I applaud those of us who had a vision early on of what we desired for our lives, and it remained our fuel for achievement, and you’ve become it. I admire you all!
That’s not my story…I had corporate aspirations. These weren’t just any kind of goals. I had the “first African-American” history maker kinds of goals. By my mid-20s the plan said I’d have my master’s degree and by 30 I’d be close to completion of the doctorate (in linguistics from Harvard). I would be such a fast-tracked rising star that I could retire by 40. It’s laughable now…
What I did not know how to discern back then was my natural gifts and aptitude for learning and communication. I am just now breaking into the areas of my earliest and purest dreams. And it’s happening way different from the plan. But I came to discover God’s plan, and while I’m aware that I know in part, I had to learn to agree with Him. I can’t move with Him unless I get in agreement (Amos 3:3).
I want to encourage you wonderful Kingdom Queens — just say yes to God’s plan. Delay is subjective in most cases, as is success. Obedience is success. Keep laying down that plan and keep submitting to His plan. Let’s say yes to His future and His hope for us…and make peace with time. It’s all in His hands anyway.
Selah, and keep breathing.
