Think about this: What kind of contradiction is it that God imputes or attributes righteousness to us, and we impute evil to each other? This is not love.
The word study is worth sharing.
Considering these meanings, here is one possible paraphrase:
In other words, love does not specialize in fiction, creating new offenses by keeping others in the wrong. No, God’s love does this:
Isn’t that wonderful? The visual for me is of a graffiti wall…all the real and perceived wrong done to us by others. I can’t see this and not consider that someone has a wall for me (selah!). And the love of God in us, pulls out a paintbrush, and white walls the graffiti so that the wall is clean.
Yes, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We can pass the test. Just like God cleaned our wall by His love, we can clean those walls where we go back to remember ourselves as victims. It’s like a museum exhibit. And it’s been an obstacle. We made a show of some of these walls, and gave tours. Then, when people asked us how we or the other person were doing, we took them back to the wall when we should have shared a testimony of healing or reconciliation or something Godly.
Today, let’s choose through love to remove the obstacle, close the exhibit and clean all those walls. Remove the graffiti from our minds and hearts, and take our power back. Let’s release the memories and people attached to those experiences from our constant thought, and get healed for real in the soul.
Sis, it is time to ditch that itemized list. If I were there I’d give you a big hug…then a push! Selah, and love to all!
