I had an experience with Luke 6 a few years ago, and each time I hear this verse or reread it I feel the impact of that revelation all over again. It was a revelation of God’s kindness to all.
WOW! I don’t know how this hits or impacts you, but I remain stunned. There are times when leading corporate prayer that Holy Spirit leads me to be thankful for the Lord’s kindness. In my personal prayer time, there are necessary moments when I am caught up just over His kindness.
When was the last time you thanked the Father for His kindness? If He can treat the “unthankful and evil” (KJV) with kindness, how much more kindness do we see and understand with repented hearts?
We love like God when we show kindness to the ungrateful (those who do not say thank you) and the wicked (the evil plotter, the scorner). Take that in for a moment. Show kindness to the selfish one…so eventually they will understand God’s goodness and repent. Show kindness to the wicked one…so it cannot be said that God is a respecter of persons.
Again, we go and do, with confidence in the Lord’s kindness to us. We go as well with great humility because we can remember when we were not thankful and when our hearts were motivated toward evil.
Add this statement to your vocabulary of prayer and encouragement: THE LORD IS KIND.
Selah, and love to all.
