Love Builds a Roof, pt. 3

What image comes to mind when you think about your relationship with God? What is the visual in your mind’s eye when you approach Him to pray? I know people who think of the cross, and see themselves bringing their concerns and entering into communion at the cross. Some others I know see a rainbow, and they come to God in the hope and bright colors of promise. Others see a throne with gold rays shooting out from it, similar to the description in Ezekiel 1.

What do you see?

I want to share one more support for 1 Corinthians 13:7 — Love beareth all things. It is in Psalm 91:1-2.

You who live in the shelter of ‘Elyon [the most high], who spend your nights in the shadow of Shaddai [the almighty], who say to Adonai, “My refuge! My fortress! My God, in whom I trust!” (CJB)

The Lord’s lesson for us about loving His way is that His love abides. His love is so constant and can be so trusted that we can spend our days in its shelter and our nights in its shadow. His love is so expansive that we can complete all our daily tasks from there, and we can rest there. Does your image of fellowship with God include His love? I hope so!

We develop God’s love in us (Romans 5:5) by His Spirit and learn to have abiding and unconditional love. Love that gives shelter (protection and comfort) from the arrow that flies by day. Love that shields and covers from the fear of the terrors that come at night. Now, we go and do likewise...that is, just like Him.

Join us on the line tonight at 8pm Central (9pm Eastern). We are praying for the women of God tonight — that God help us to love like Him. Also, keep sending the names of women’s and young women’s ministries; we will pray for them on the 25th. The conference line number is (862) 902-0241, and the code is 6360503.
