Kingdom Queens,
We continue to make our case for avoiding the seat of the scornful. First, we move aside to avoid cycles — if we scorn God will scorn us back (Proverbs 3:34). Second, we avoid scorn because it causes God to deal with us from afar off (Psalm 138:6).
The third reason to avoid the seat of the scornful is because it is a seat that waits on judgment. Let’s look at Proverbs 19:29.
Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.
For the scorner, judgments are in the queue. Think of a call center — when it’s busy, incoming calls are held in a queue. A queue is a waiting line. This is how judgments (sentences or decisions) are set up against scorners…God keeps judgments in the queue, and they all say scorn. Wow!…and WHOA!
Most often we hear sowing and reaping in some derivative, and it is to provoke our consideration that our words and actions come back to us…and God allows it. So far, we examined three reasons that scorn brings back scorn — not by God’s allowance, but by His response.
Let’s consider our options when we are invited to take a rest in the seat of the scornful. There are more suitable places to take a seat…the one to which we are assigned, for example. Selah, and love to all.
