Resistance (a short review on Posture)

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

The word for today is RESISTANCE. It is the power or capacity to resist. It is a psychological defense. Simply stated, it is one with a strong mind who can resist. The verse above is Psalm 1:1 and a great example of resistance. It takes mental strength (through the active mind of Christ in us) to oppose wicked influences, live Godly and avoid laziness with complainers.

I encourage us to make a decision today. Let’s not be like the doubleminded man we’ve heard and talked about in James 1:1-4.

  • He either does not ask for wisdom from God, OR
  • he asks, but does not believe, AND
  • because he does not believe he is tossed around with all kinds of ideas and teaching…THE RESULT IS
  • that this man should not expect anything from God.

This example of the doubleminded man is counter resistance. It is the opposite of what we should do.

As we walk in our authority, let’s keep our helmets of salvation secure and be sound decision makers.

God bless you!
