Bring Your Motives Into the Light
My encouragement is simple–get to the real reason of what (or who) draws you. Is there a hidden motive in your heart? I recommend a LIGHT check…of our motives. WHY did you follow this leading? Is it your spirit or God’s Spirit leading? We’ve done well assessing others–our relationships and the impacts people make on us. NOW…assess yourself. It’s time to surrender the fantasy dream bubble to the Lord, and tell Him, “I’m ready to hear now…for real.”
I pray you sustain no injury or offense from this entry. But, it’s possible…very possible to desire something so strongly that you and I create an opening for a “word” disguised as a Word from God, and follow it in “faith” because it spoke to something in us.
As it relates to the Word of God, relationship with God works this way: the Word works us. That’s it.
It’s “quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12 KJV).
What’s happened is that along the way, for various reasons (lack of knowledge, weakness, erroneous teaching), some of us allowed people to work us more than giving heed to the Word.
False prophecy abounds, and speaking spirits of all kinds have been granted entrance and platforms because of itching ears, and a true desire to hear from God…APART from His Word. Don’t think it’s true? Jesus taught a principle about reaching people, and principles work regardless of the context. You are sheep, sent out among wolves; be wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16).
That’s how we allowed people to work us–we are the sheep who misidentified wolves, and so received false speaking spirits because they were…ready for this?…harmless. The principle works.
We cannot afford to follow everything that draws us. We do not have the time or energy to waste processing out of a situation created by following someone who draws us…and then ask God, “Why did you let me do this?! I asked You to shut it down if it wasn’t of You.” (and more..we say much more)
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away from his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust is conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1:13-15
Kingdom Queens, God IS LIGHT. In Him there is no darkness…no shadow…nothing hidden. Only light. This is the message, the Apostle John said (1 John 1:5-8), and a life conducted in LIGHT produces real fellowship with God and the cleansing of the blood of Jesus.

Oh my!!! She whom the Son sets free is free indeed!!! So its time for Spring cleaning, you know, the closets and under the rugs and the corners and the window ledges! No more shamming! I wanna be clean FOR REAL! Thank you, Lady Shaunta for bringing LIGHT to all of my dark places!!! INow, Lord thank You for strength to see and acknowledge and effectively deal with the Truth.
