Purpose Management: The Come-to-Jesus Meeting

To manage unlimited purpose (instead of the limits of time) we draw on the unlimited Christ as our source. The challenge for some of us is our race against the clock of accomplishment. We want to do something, create some legacy, have some work behind us in the name of “bearing fruit.” (that’s coming in another blog) But on the Path to Reigning there is a season assigned (I think it’s recurring at different point of life) for us to have actual come-to-Jesus meetings…with Jesus. It is an encounter or series of encounters where He shares more about His intelligent design for us. Just like God took counsel with Himself to create us, we take counsel with Him when it is time to manifest Christ in another way.

In the last blog I suggested that we BE the DOING. We enter into that rest of BEING when we encounter Jesus face to face. This is the Gospel of purpose, that we engage our mission, message and ministry on levels and in ways we never considered because we took time (our limits) to counsel with Christ (the source of unlimited possibility).

Many of us know all too well the result of DOING without fully BEING. Good intention without direction. Motion without movement. Plans without progress. Good ideas instead of purpose. Appearance and form without power and fruit. Desire without true development.

Read 2 Corinthians 3:17-18 (NIV) with me:

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we, who with unveiled faces reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Access is granted to do more than discover purpose. We now have a way to know HOW HE MEANS FOR US TO DO PURPOSE. And wrapped up in that, is us BEING…at rest with the WHO (identity), WHAT (message and ministry), WHEN (season not timing), WHERE (condition as well as location) and HOW (God working with us to produce signs, wonders and miracles).

That is good news! So much so, that I pray we thrust ourselves into the encounter head first (confront the logic), heart first (surrender the subordinate plan) and with all of who we know we are right now. Put the plans down for now. Put the other meetings on hold. In this season of access, let’s get all the understanding we can! As we run to complete purpose, I thank God for the privilege we ALL will have to witness our change into the image of Christ.
