The countdown is on to the Path to Reigning Series! I want to give you a preview of our first session on purpose statements.
Have you heard this statement: You are not what you do? I have and it puzzled me. I am linked to my behavior; that is, what I do. If I am not what I do, then who am I and why am I here? That is is the difference between purpose and identity. Identity is who I am. Purpose is why I am here.
I know. That may not be the clearest introduction. Let’s review Jesus Christ as an example. Look with me at three of His purpose statements.
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. ~1 John 3:8b
For the Son of Man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. ~Luke 19:10
My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. ~John 4:34
Can we agree that these short purpose statements do not tell us WHO Jesus is? They are not identity statements. They are purpose statements. Purpose is why you DO what you do with your identity (who you are).
Who is Jesus? The Way, the Truth and the Life. The Word made flesh. Immanuel (God with us). Wonderful. Counselor. Mighty God. Everlasting Father. Prince of Peace. And according to these verses, what is His purpose? Destroy the works of the devil. Save that which was lost. Do the Father’s will and finish His work.
Over the next few months, join me in meditation on the following truths:
I pray you’ll answer the call to ascend in this season as we put purpose in order. You are not a problem. You are an answer…WHY are you here? WHAT is your purpose? If you do not know, I pray you discover on The Path. If you know your purpose, then I pray you begin and/or continue the DOING and encourage others on The Path.
As with Esther and Abigail so it is on The Path. We are walking together, agreeing to let the Father further equip and encourage us. Kingdom Queens, it is past time to SEE our legacies in the earth…it is time to DO and keep DOING purpose.
Selah, and love to all.
Thought. Peace. Love.
