Keeping up with Abigail.

Since completing the Abigail’s Call series, it dawned on me that there is more–much more– to consider about David. Don’t worry, that’s not the next study. I write to remind you of this lifestyle God calls us to via The Queen Life. Here are a few questions to complete your own assessment.

  1. Are you living as a woman of good understanding? That is, you are aware of what’s going on around you (wisdom), show you can manage practical affairs (prudence), carefully evaluate the potential consequences of a situation (circumspect), increase your capacity to know (intelligence), and know when to be silent (discretion).
  2. Are you walking in the way of holy women who trust God? This list is a little longer…Read 1 Peter 3:1-8. The quality I reiterate here is you possess a meek and quiet spirit, the kind that is precious to God. Meekness is humility, yes, as well as strength. Quietness is the ability to remain in place, to not be moved out of place.
  3. Did you obey the call to extreme humility when the opportunity appeared? If you did it through gritted teeth, that counts! The point I emphasize here is that you embraced God ‘s process through this exercise.
Abigail is a type. She is all of us. It is possible to be beautiful on the inside as well as the outside. I encourage us to maintain a balance there. I am sure wherever you are in your life, that you are running this “race” well.
Keep it up!
